ואלין דאתו לות דוד לצקלג עוד הוה כבוש מן קדם שאול בר קיש והנון בגבריא דמסיעין ליה בקרבא:
bqrba lyh dmsyeyn bgbrya whnwn qysh br shawl qdm mn kbwsh hwh ewd ltsqlg dwd lwth dathw walyn
Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag while he was a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish. They were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

אומנין למיגר בקשתא ראמן גיררין מן ימינהון ומן שמאליהון רגמין באבניא ומגיחין קרבא בגיררין ובקשתא מקריבי שאול משבטא דבנימין:
dbnymyn mshbTa shawl mqryby wbqshtha bgyrryn qrba wmgykhyn babnya rgmyn shmalyhwn wmn ymynhwn mn gyrryn ramn bqshtha lmygr awmnyn
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow. They were of Saul’s relatives of the tribe of Benjamin.

דממנא לרישא אחיעזר ויואש בני שמעא דמן גבעתא ויזיאל ופלט בני עזמות וברכה ויהוא דמן ענתות:
enthwth dmn wyhwa wbrkh ezmwth bny wplT wyzyal gbetha dmn shmea bny wywash akhyezr lrysha dmmna
The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; Jeziel and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; Beracah; Jehu the Anathothite;

וישמעיה דמן גבעון גבר בגבריא ומטא לגבורת גברין:
gbryn lgbwrth wmTa bgbrya gbr gbewn dmn wyshmeyh
Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty and a leader of the thirty; Jeremiah; Jahaziel; Johanan; Jozabad the Gederathite;

וירמיה ויחזיאל ויוחנן ויוזבד דמן גדרה:
gdrh dmn wywzbd wywkhnn wykhzyal wyrmyh
Eluzai; Jerimoth; Bealiah; Shemariah; Shephatiah the Haruphite;

וירימות ובעליה ושמריהו ושפטיהו דמן חרוף:
khrwp dmn wshpTyhw wshmryhw wbelyh wyrymwth
Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
7
אלקנה וישיהו ואזראל ויועזר וישבעם דמן זרעית קרח:
qrkh zreyth dmn wyshbem wywezr wazral wyshyhw alqnh
and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

ויועאלה וזבדיה בני ירוחם מן גדור:
gdwr mn yrwkhm bny wzbdyh wywealh
Some Gadites joined David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains:

ומן שבטא דגד איתפרשו לדוד בחקרא במדברא גברי חילא אנשי חילא לקרבא מסדרי תריסין ונטלי מורניתא ודמות אריוא דמותהון בקרבא והי כטביא על טוריא רהטין לאוחאה:
lawkhah rhTyn Twrya el kTbya why bqrba dmwthhwn arywa wdmwth mwrnytha wnTly thrysyn msdry lqrba khyla anshy khyla gbry bmdbra bkhqra ldwd aythprshw dgd shbTa wmn
Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

עזר רישא עובדיה תנינא אליאב תליתאה:
thlythah alyab thnyna ewbdyh rysha ezr
Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

יוחנן תמינאה אלזבד תשיעאה:
thshyeah alzbd thmynah ywkhnn
Jeremiah the tenth, and Machbannai the eleventh.

ירמיהו עשיראה מכבני חד סראה:
srah khd mkbny eshyrah yrmyhw
These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army. He who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.
15
אלין מבני גד רישי חיליא דכל חד וחד הוה מסדר קרבא עם אלפא זעירא דבהון עם מאה ורבא עם אלפא: :
alpa em wrba mah em dbhwn zeyra alpa em qrba msdr hwh wkhd khd dkl khylya ryshy gd mbny alyn
These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all who lived in the valleys, both toward the east and toward the west.

אלין הינון דעברו ית ירדנא בירחא קדמאה והוא מתמלי על כל פצידוהי ואפכו כל יתבי מישריא למדינחא ולמערבא:
wlmerba lmdynkha myshrya ythby kl wapkw ptsydwhy kl el mthmly whwa qdmah byrkha yrdna yth debrw hynwn alyn
Some of the children of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.

ואתו מן בני בנימן ויהודה עד לחקרא לות דוד:
dwd lwth lkhqra ed wyhwdh bnymn bny mn wathw
David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”

ונפק דוד לקדמיהון ואמר להון אין לשלם אתיתון לותי לסיעותי יהי לי עליכון שלם לבבא כחדא ואין לנכלא יתי לאעקותי בלא חטופין בידי יתגלא קדם אלהא דאבהתנא ויתפרע:
wythpre dabhthna alha qdm ythgla bydy khTwpyn bla laeqwthy ythy lnkla wayn kkhda lbba shlm elykwn ly yhy lsyewthy lwthy athythwn lshlm ayn lhwn wamr lqdmyhwn dwd wnpq
Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse. Peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them and made them captains of the band.

ורוח גבורה לבשת ית עמשי ריש גבריא ואתיב אמטולתך דוד אתינא ולמהוי עמך בר ישי שלמא ביממא ושלמא בליליא לך ושלמא לדמסיעין לך ארום בסעדך מימר אלהך וקבלנון דוד ומננון ברישי מזרזי חילא:
khyla mzrzy bryshy wmnnwn dwd wqblnwn alhk mymr bsedk arwm lk ldmsyeyn wshlma lk blylya wshlma bymma shlma yshy br emk wlmhwy athyna dwd amTwlthk wathyb gbrya rysh emshy yth lbshth gbwrh wrwkh
Some of Manasseh also joined David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they didn’t help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will desert to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”

ומשבטא מנשה שרו עם דוד כד אתא עם פלשתאי על שאול לאגחא קרבא ולא סעדונון ארום בעיטתא פטרו יתיה אסטרטיגי פלשתאי למימר ברישנא למקטלא יתוב לות רבוניה שאול:
shawl rbwnyh lwth ythwb lmqTla bryshna lmymr plshthay asTrTygy ythyh pTrw beyTtha arwm sedwnwn wla qrba lagkha shawl el plshthay em atha kd dwd em shrw mnshh wmshbTa
As he went to Ziklag, some from Manasseh joined him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.

כד אזל לצקלג שרו עלוהי ואתחברו עמיה משבטא מנשה עדנח ויוזבד וידיעאל ומיכאל ויוזבד ואליהוא וצלתי רישי גבריא דמן שבטא מנשה:
mnshh shbTa dmn gbrya ryshy wtslthy walyhwa wywzbd wmykal wydyeal wywzbd ednkh mnshh mshbTa emyh wathkhbrw elwhy shrw ltsqlg azl kd
They helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor and were captains in the army.

והנון סיעו עם דוד על מזרזי חילא מטול דגברי חילא הוו כלהון והוו מתמנן רבני חילא:
khyla rbny mthmnn whww klhwn hww khyla dgbry mTwl khyla mzrzy el dwd em syew whnwn
For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like God’s army.

ארום לזמן יומא ביומא אתין לות דוד לסיעותיה עד דהוו למשריי אוכלוזין סגיעין כדמות משריי מלאכיא דיי:
dyy mlakya mshryy kdmwth sgyeyn awklwzyn lmshryy dhww ed lsyewthyh dwd lwth athyn bywma ywma lzmn arwm
These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to Yahweh’s word.

ואלין סכומי רישי חילא דמזרזין לחילא דאתו לות דוד לחברון לאחזרא מלכותא דשאול לותיה בגזרת מימרא דיי:
dyy mymra bgzrth lwthyh dshawl mlkwtha lakhzra lkhbrwn dwd lwth dathw lkhyla dmzrzyn khyla ryshy skwmy walyn
The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand eight hundred, armed for war.

בני יהודה נטלי תריסין ומורנין אשתא אלפין ותמני מאה מזרזי חילא:
khyla mzrzy mah wthmny alpyn ashtha wmwrnyn thrysyn nTly yhwdh bny
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war: seven thousand one hundred.

מן בני שמעון גברי חילא לחילא שבעא אלפין ומאה:
wmah alpyn shbea lkhyla khyla gbry shmewn bny mn
Of the children of Levi: four thousand six hundred.
27
מן בני ליואי ארבעת אלפין ושית מאה:
mah wshyth alpyn arbeth lyway bny mn
Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand seven hundred,
28
ויהוידע אמרכול לבית אהרן ועמיה תלתא אלפין ושבע מאה:
mah wshbe alpyn thltha wemyh ahrn lbyth amrkwl wyhwyde
and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains.
29
וצדוק טלי גבר חילא ובית אבוי רבנין עשרין ותרין:
wthryn eshryn rbnyn abwy wbyth khyla gbr Tly wtsdwq
Of the children of Benjamin, Saul’s relatives: three thousand, for until then, the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to Saul’s house.
30
ומן בני בנימן קריבו דשאול תלתא אלפין ועד כדון בניהון נטרין מטרת שאול:
shawl mTrth nTryn bnyhwn kdwn wed alpyn thltha dshawl qrybw bnymn bny wmn
Of the children of Ephraim: twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers’ houses.

ומן בני אפרים עשרין אלפין ותמני מאה גברי חילא אנשי שמהן לבית אבהתהון:
abhthhwn lbyth shmhn anshy khyla gbry mah wthmny alpyn eshryn aprym bny wmn
Of the half-tribe of Manasseh: eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.
32
ומפלגות שבטא דמנשה תמניסר אלפין דאתפרשו בשמהן למיעל לאמלכא ית דוד:
dwd yth lamlka lmyel bshmhn dathprshw alpyn thmnysr dmnshh shbTa wmplgwth
Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their command.
33
ומן בני יששכר ידעי סוכלתנו לעדניא חכימין למקבע רישי שגין ורישי ירחין ולעברא ירחיא ושניא סופיסטין במולדא דסיהרא למקבע מועדיא בעדנהון בקיאין בתקופתא דשמשא אצרולוגין במזליא וכוכביא למידע מה כשרין למעבד בית ישראל רבניהון רישי סנדריא מאתן כל אחוהון עבדין פתגמי אוריתא וחכימין על מימר פומהון:
pwmhwn mymr el wkhkymyn awrytha pthgmy ebdyn akhwhwn kl mathn sndrya ryshy rbnyhwn yshral byth lmebd kshryn mh lmyde wkwkbya bmzlya atsrwlwgyn dshmsha bthqwptha bqyayn bednhwn mwedya lmqbe dsyhra bmwlda swpysTyn wshnya yrkhya wlebra yrkhyn wryshy shgyn ryshy lmqbe khkymyn lednya swklthnw ydey yshshkr bny wmn
Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array with all kinds of instruments of war: fifty thousand who could command and were not of double heart.

ומשבטא זבלון נפקי חילא מסדרי קרבא בכל זיני קרבא חמשין אלפין ולמעסק בלא לבא ולבא:
wlba lba bla wlmesq alpyn khmshyn qrba zyny bkl qrba msdry khyla npqy zblwn wmshbTa
Of Naphtali: one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.

ומשבטא נפתלי רבנין אלפא ועמהון בתריסין ומורנין תלתין ושבעא אלפין:
alpyn wshbea thlthyn wmwrnyn bthrysyn wemhwn alpa rbnyn npthly wmshbTa
Of the Danites who could set the battle in array: twenty-eight thousand six hundred.
36
ומן שבטא דן מסדרי קרבא עשרין ותמני אלפין ושית מאה:
mah wshyth alpyn wthmny eshryn qrba msdry dn shbTa wmn
Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array: forty thousand.
37
ומשבטא אשר נפקא חילא לסדרא קרבא ארבעין אלפין:
alpyn arbeyn qrba lsdra khyla npqa ashr wmshbTa
On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle: one hundred twenty thousand.

ומעברא לירדנא משבטא ראובן ומשבטא גד ומפלגות שבטא דמנשה מזרזין בכל זינין לחילא מאה ועשרין אלפין:
alpyn weshryn mah lkhyla zynyn bkl mzrzyn dmnshh shbTa wmplgwth gd wmshbTa rawbn mshbTa lyrdna wmebra
All these were men of war who could order the battle array, and came with a perfect heart to Hebron to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
39
כל אלין אנשי קרבא מסדרי סדרא בלב שלים אתו לחברון לאמלכא ית דוד על כל ישראל ואוף כל שארא דישראל לבא חד לאמלכא ית דוד:
dwd yth lamlka khd lba dyshral shara kl wawp yshral kl el dwd yth lamlka lkhbrwn athw shlym blb sdra msdry qrba anshy alyn kl
They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had supplied provisions for them.
40
והוו תמן עם דוד יומין תלתא אכלין ושאתין ארום זמינו להון אחוהון:
akhwhwn lhwn zmynw arwm wshathyn aklyn thltha ywmyn dwd em thmn whww
Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, on camels, on mules, and on oxen: supplies of flour, cakes of figs, clusters of raisins, wine, oil, cattle, and sheep in abundance; for there was joy in Israel.
41
ואוף דקריבין להון עד יששכר וזבולן ונפתלי מיתין להון לחמא בחמרין ובגמלין ובכודנין ובתורין מזונא ומנן דדיבלין ואתכלין דענבין וחמר ומשח ותורין ועאן לסגעי מטול דחדוה הות בישראל:
